Let this be the beginning of a beautiful friendship

Your memory-keeper, storyteller, and professional third wheel

When I’m not out taking photos, you’ll usually find me living life out of my camper van. Coffee in hand, door wide open, book on my lap, staring at a mountain view — that’s my happy place (unless I’ve also got my camera in hand, then it’s double happiness).

I’ve visited over 30 countries and love learning about different cultures, but my heart is rooted in Scotland — its history, landscapes, and language. I’m a Gaelic speaker, and I love weaving that part of my heritage into the stories I tell for others. Whether it’s helping couples include Scottish traditions in their ceremonies or guiding families to explore somewhere wild and beautiful, it means everything to me to share the culture I love.

Hi,Im Danielle

how it all began

My love for photography didn’t start with a camera — it started with a big, worn-out box of photographs at my grandparents’ house. Every summer, I’d pull it out and get lost in its treasures: crumbling black-and-white school photos of my grandad, Polaroids with faded edges, even the “accidental” film shots that somehow told the best stories. We’d sit together, laugh, and trade tales, and I’d piece together bits of family history from Ireland that I never would have known otherwise.

What stayed with me wasn’t the perfectly posed portraits — it was the little things. Those tiny, ordinary details held the power to spark memories and bring entire moments rushing back.

In high school, I studied Higher Photography and chose my grandparents as my project. My grandad hated sitting still — he’d pull faces, crack jokes, wander off — and that’s when I learned the best photos aren’t posed, but real.

He sadly passed away in 2024, and now those photos mean everything. They don’t just show his face; they bring back his spark, his humour, the feeling of being with him. That’s what I carry into every gallery I create — knowing these images will one day be treasured not just now, but for decades, becoming part of your family’s story for generations.

I studied Contemporary Art Practice at Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee, which is where my photography journey truly began. At first it was just snapping photos of friends and family, but soon I was shadowing wedding photographers, learning the ropes, and falling deeper in love with storytelling through a lens.

I never expected it to become such a passion (I actually went to uni to study painting!), but year after year, it’s only grown stronger. Now, I can’t imagine doing anything else — this is absolutely where I’m meant to be.

Whether it’s couples promising forever on a mountaintop, families gathered to celebrate love, or kids giggling as they run through the forest or splash in a loch, what I love most is capturing the connection between people.

The most rewarding part? When someone sees their photographs and lights up — recognising their own beauty, their story, their joy. Knowing I’ve given them something to treasure, something that will still bring those feelings rushing back decades from now, is the greatest gift of this work.

how i ended up here

I’ve always been a free spirit, happiest when I’m out in nature. My favourite ritual is simple: brewing a cup of coffee in the morning, opening up my van door, and settling in with a good book while the mountains stretch out in front of me. That quiet moment fills me right up — and when I’ve got my camera in hand too, it’s pure magic.

Living full-time on the road has taken me to every corner of Scotland, and sharing these places with others is one of my greatest joys. Elopements, to me, just make sense — adventure, intimacy, and the raw beauty of being in the wild together.
